Tell us six things and we can quote properly

Sculpture and mural work has no catalogue price, because no two commissions share a specification. But six answers are enough to give you a real number rather than a placeholder — and they take about two minutes to write down.

For sculpture, murals and beautification

  1. Scale. The height you want, or the sight-line the piece should command. If you are unsure, tell us how far away people will be standing.
  2. The site. Indoors or outdoors, how exposed it is, the viewing distance, and the direction people approach from. A photograph of the site is worth more than a paragraph.
  3. Likeness. Whether a specific person must be recognisable. Portrait work needs a clay original and approval cycles; a generic figure does not.
  4. Finish. Antique bronze, gilded, stone effect, natural, or full colour. If you do not know, describe the effect you want and we will suggest.
  5. Scope boundaries. Whether the plinth, foundation, lighting and site preparation are yours or ours. This is the most commonly missed item and the one that causes the most trouble late.
  6. The date. When it must be in place, and whether that date is fixed by an inauguration or event.

If you have a sanctioned budget, say so at the start. It is not a weak position — it lets us propose what can be done well within it, rather than developing a design and then cutting it down. What gets cut in that situation is almost always structure and finish quality, which is exactly what should not be.

For printing, design and signage

Much simpler — we usually need only:

  • What you want printed or made, and the finished size.
  • The quantity.
  • When you need it.
  • The file, if you have one. If not, bring the content and we will design it.
