Why an advertising agency does public art
It is a fair question, and the answer is that in Uttar Pradesh a great deal of public beautification, publicity and civic art work reaches the market as a government tender floated to empanelled advertising agencies. Graphic Arts is an advertising agency in Varanasi that has held that classification and done that work since 1999.
So a body looking for an empanelled agency for beautification work and a body looking for a sculpture fabricator are, in our case, looking for the same vendor — which is unusual, and is the reason this page exists.
What makes the combination unusual is the other side of it. Most advertising agencies cannot cast a twelve-foot FRP statue, engineer a monumental scrap-metal installation, or paint a mural across the full height of an apartment block — they subcontract it. Most sculpture fabricators, conversely, are not set up to bid government work at all. We do both, in-house.

Working to sanctioned budgets and fixed dates
Municipal work usually has a sanctioned figure before it has a design, and a date fixed by an inauguration. That is a workable way to commission provided the constraint is stated at the outset — we would rather propose what can be achieved well within a known budget than develop a design and cut it down afterwards.
